Subaru EyeSight An extra set of eyes on the road and if need be, an extra foot on the brake when you drive.
EyeSight® Driver Assist Technology1 is the culmination of everything Subaru engineers know about safety, and Subaru has sold more than 1 million EyeSight-equipped vehicles. Adding confidence to every trip, EyeSight tracks traffic movement, optimizes cruise control, and warns you if you sway outside your lane.
EyeSight Features
Every Subaru features dual-color cameras, discreetly mounted near the rearview mirror, that continuously scan the road ahead for potential hazards. On select models, a third camera expands the field of view to further enhance pedestrian and cyclist detection.

Adv. Adaptive Cruise Control
When cruise control is engaged, EyeSight® Advanced Adaptive Cruise Control with Lane Centering can automatically maintain a set distance from the vehicle ahead while helping keep your vehicle centered in its lane
Lane Departure & Sway Warning
EyeSight monitors lane markings, and if you begin to drift toward the edge, the system can alert you and even intervene, steering you safely back into your lane.
Pre-Collision Braking
EyeSight is always scanning the road ahead to help you stay safe. If EyeSight spots potential danger, it can alert you and if needed, automatically apply the brakes to help avoid an accident2.
Automatic Emergency Steering
When Pre-Collision Braking alone isn’t enough to prevent an accident, EyeSight can engage Automatic emergency Steering to help maneuver you safely around the obstruction in your path3.
Pre-Collision Throttle Management
If EyeSight detects potential danger in your path, it can reduce power to the engine, giving you more time to respond and slow down in a low-speed emergency situation.
Active Safety Features
For greater reassurance and peace of mind, Subaru offers a suite of active safety systems that help provide better all-around awareness.

Rear Cross-Traffic Alert
When you’re in reverse, Eyesight can detect vehicles, pedestrians, or cyclists approaching from the side ⎯ even if your view is blocked. If you continue to back up, your Subaru can then alert you both audibly and visually, letting you know which side the object is approaching from4.
Advanced Headlights
For better visibility, Steering Responsive Headlights point in the direction you’re turning, helping you to see things sooner. High Beam Assist can automatically dim and activate your high beams to protect other drivers from the glare while maintaining maximum visibility.
DriverFocus®
If your attention begins to stray from the road ahead or you start showing signs of drowsiness, Subaru DriverFocus5 can give you a gentle reminder to help bring your focus back to the road or let you know it’s time for a break.
Reverse Automatic Braking
When you’re in reverse, Reverse Automatic Braking uses sonar sensors to detect objects or vehicles behind you. As you get closer to an object, your Subaru will alert you, and if you don’t apply the brakes, the system can even intervene to help avoid a collision6.
Blind-Spot Detection
For added reassurance when changing lanes, Blind-spot Detection can alert you if there’s a vehicle hidden in your blind spot. When you signal to change lanes, the Lane Change Assist feature can provide an enhanced alert if there’s a vehicle approaching at a higher speed in the neighboring lane4.
1 EyeSight is a driver-assist system that may not operate optimally under all driving conditions. The driver is always responsible for safe and attentive driving. System effectiveness depends on many factors, such as vehicle maintenance, weather, and road conditions. See Owner’s Manual for complete details on system operation and limitations.
2 EyeSight is a driver-assist system that may not operate optimally under all driving conditions. The Pre-Collision Braking System is designed to provide automatic braking that either prevents a collision or reduces the severity of a frontal impact. The driver is always responsible for safe and attentive driving. System effectiveness depends on many factors, such as vehicle maintenance, weather, and road conditions. See Owner’s Manual for complete details on system operation and limitations.
3 Automatic Emergency Steering is a system designed to assist the driver. It is not a substitute for safe and attentive driving. Automatic Emergency Steering works in conjunction with and after Pre-Collision Braking has been activated by providing steering support at speeds lower than 50 mph to try and help avoid a collision. See Owner’s Manual for complete details, including important system limitations. Availability varies by trim level.
4 Blind-Spot Detection, Lane Change Assist and Rear Cross-Traffic Alert are systems designed to assist the driver by monitoring the rear and side areas of the vehicle during a lane change or reversing and are not a substitute for safe and attentive driving.
5 DriverFocus is a driver recognition technology designed to alert the driver if their attention to the road wavers or if the driver’s face appears to turn away. The driver is always responsible for safe and attentive driving. System effectiveness may be affected by articles of clothing worn on the head or face. See Owner’s Manual for complete details on system operations and limitations.
6 Reverse Automatic Braking is a system designed to assist the driver by detecting objects to help avoid a possible collision when the vehicle is moving in a reverse direction. It is not a substitute for safe and attentive driving. System effectiveness depends on many factors such as vehicle maintenance, weather and road conditions. Always exercise caution and use vehicle mirrors and Rear-Vision Camera when backing up. See Owner’s Manual for complete details on system operation and limitations.
