2024: A Year of Giving Back with Wilsonville Subaru

At Wilsonville Subaru, we take pride in being more than just a car dealership—we’re an active part of Wilsonville and surrounding communities. Throughout 2024, we have had the honor of supporting a variety of local organizations and events that make a meaningful difference in the lives of our neighbors. From sports teams and arts festivals to vital community programs, here’s a look at some of the incredible organizations we partnered with this year. 

Empowering Local Youth 

• Wilsonville Little League Baseball: Supporting the next generation of athletes, we were thrilled to sponsor Wilsonville Little League Baseball. Helping kids build teamwork, confidence, and a love for the game is a cause close to our hearts.
• Wilsonville High School Girls Teams: From the basketball court to the equestrian arena and soccer field, we proudly backed the Wilsonville High School Girls Basketball Team, Equestrian Team and Soccer Team. Watching these talented athletes excel has been inspiring.
• Wilsonville High School Cheerleaders: The cheerleading squad brings energy and enthusiasm to every game, and we’re proud to help them shine as they represent our community.
• Wilsonville High School Grad Night: Celebrating the achievements of graduating seniors, our sponsorship helped make their send-off an unforgettable one.
• The Lowrie Primary School Wheel-A-Thon: A vibrant celebration of health, wellness, and community spirit. Subaru played a key role in supporting young students as they rode their bikes around the school, emphasizing the importance of physical activity and bike safety.

Advocating for Families in Need 

• Family Promise of Tualatin Valley: Through Operation Warm, we provided 120 children’s winter coats to families in need during the colder months, ensuring comfort, wellness and care.
• Make-A-Wish Oregon: Partnering with Make-A-Wish during the Subaru Share the Love Event allowed us to help make dreams come true! We had the privilege of making a dream come true for Isla, a brave and inspiring leukemia survivor. Through the incredible partnership between Subaru and Make-A-Wish Oregon, we helped Isla discover her dream wish—a trip to the Florida Keys! Isla’s surprise was nothing short of magical. She walked into our showroom to find a crowd of cheering employees, all gathered to celebrate her resilience and her upcoming adventure. The room was transformed into a Florida beach paradise, complete with treats, bracelet-making, and tropical décor. This moment captured the joy and excitement that defines everything we love about the Subaru Share the Love Event. Subaru participates by donating $250 to a charity of our customers’ choice* with every new vehicle purchased and leased, we also contributed an additional $75 in total to Make-A-Wish Oregon and Victory Academy for every vehicle sold and leased during the event. In addition, for every routine service visit during the Share the Love Event, we also donated $5 to our hometown charities. By the end of this event, Subaru and its retailers, including Wilsonville Subaru, have donated nearly $320 million to charitable organizations across the nation.
• Baker Prairie Middle School: Through Subaru Loves Learning, we donated school supplies to help set students up for success. These supplies provide encouragement, create opportunities, and contribute to a brighter future for students.

Caring for Health and Well-Being 

• Providence Cancer Institute, Newberg – Subaru Loves to Care: We were able to provide 80 warm blankets and 10 activity kits to cancer patients, offering comfort during challenging times.

Supporting Our Furry Friends 

• Newberg Animal Shelter, Subaru Loves Pets: We teamed up with Newberg Animal Shelter to host an in-store event to help support efforts in finding forever homes for pets in need. More than 30 kittens and doggies found homes with caring and loving families.

Celebrating Arts, Culture, and Community Spirit 

• Charbonneau Art Festival: Charbonneau Art Festival: Creativity thrives in our community, and we were honored to sponsor this event, celebrating the incredible talent of local artists. Subaru was especially proud to support the next generation of creatives by funding scholarships for two local high school graduates to pursue their studies at an art institute.
• Wilsonville Library Foundation: Wilsonville Subaru is proud to support literacy and lifelong learning through donations and volunteer efforts with the Foundation. Our contributions have helped fund impactful programs such as The Dolly Parton Imagination Library, The Heritage Collection, Little Free Libraries, and Science Adventures. Additionally, our support has helped keep the children’s library well-stocked with books, ensuring young readers have access to a world of knowledge and imagination.
• Aurora Colony Days: This year, we participated in the Aurora Colony Days Parade, showcasing one of our EVs and celebrating local history and pride.

On the Green 

• Make-a-Wish Golf Tournament: As the major sponsor of the inaugural Golf for Wishes Tournament, Wilsonville Subaru was proud to support this incredible event. With 168 golfers participating, including both individuals and company teams, the day was filled with excitement. Subaru had two teams in the tournament, a car displayed near the 18th green, and several banners showcasing our commitment to the cause. Each golfer received a swag bag, and lunch and dinner were provided, along with a raffle. It was a fantastic day on the course, all for a great cause.
• Wilsonville Chamber of Commerce Golf Tournament: As a proud Chamber member, Wilsonville Subaru is deeply committed to being an active part of the Wilsonville business and social community. We have been a primary sponsor of the Wilsonville Chamber of Commerce Golf Tournament since its inception three years ago. This tournament plays a vital role in raising funds to support the Chamber’s initiatives and strengthen our local community.

Fueling Thrills and Fun 

• Sherwood Chambers Cruise In: The Cruise In showcased over 400 classic cars, trucks, and pieces of mechanical art and history, drawing more than 20,000 visitors. Subaru’s involvement in this event helps build connections and support local business growth, which is central to our mission. We were proud to contribute to such a vibrant celebration of automotive history and community spirit.
• Woodburn Drag Strip: For fans of speed and excitement, our support of the Woodburn Drag Strip brought the community together for thrilling, heart-pounding races. The drag strip hosted more than 50 premier motorsports events each year, from May to March. During these highly competitive events, over 100,000 spectators saw our two 8” x 3” Subaru banners prominently displayed along the fence of the strip, highlighting our commitment to motorsports and local events.

Honoring Excellence 

• Rotary Heart of Gold: The Wilsonville Rotary hosted its annual Heart of Gold Dinner, an event we were proud to sponsor. The dinner honored a Wilsonville citizen who, through years of volunteerism, dedication, and knowledge, helped make Wilsonville a better place to live for its residents. This event also served as the First Citizen Awards dinner, recognizing outstanding contributions to the community.
• Victory Academy 16th Anniversary Dinner: a nationally recognized school for children with autism, has been a valued partner for over the past 8 years. We’ve supported the Academy not only through financial contributions but also by providing students with work experience opportunities within our dealership. By assisting our department staff with various tasks, these students gain valuable skills, build self-assurance, and grow in confidence. We are proud to be part of their journey toward greater independence and success.
